The Budding Musicians Club Bursary Scheme

The BMC Bursary Scheme is linked to the instrumental tuition programme at The Midi Music Company. It's an opportunity for us to invest in aspiring young musicians who wouldn't usually be able to afford one-to-one tuition.

The BMC Bursary Scheme has been delivered in partnership with The Conservatoire in Blackheath since 2002. The scheme provides lessons in vocals, drums, guitar and keyboards. Children can develop their technical and musical skills, enabling them to prepare for their music grade exams (although fees for exams are not included in the Bursary Scheme).

Previous winners of the BMC Bursary Awards have returned to our Summer Showcase to perform and inspire other young musicians.

The Conservatoire announces funding for a further two bursaries for Budding Musicians!

From this September we are pleased to announce the award of a further two busaries per year. The Conservatoire has been so impressed with our students that they have not only offered current bursary winners the opportunity to extended their studies but also have offered to fund a further two bursaries themselves! These, along with the eight generously provided by the Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust, means that we can now award ten bursaries per year.

Nominees are selected from children who have attended BMC classes during the academic year (September to July). Tutors take into account attendance records, commitment, enthusiasm, and musical potential when making their recommendations. The names of the winners, decided by panel vote, are announced at our annual Summer Showcase event in July.
