Mauritius

In April 2008 five emerging artists and industry professionals travelled to Mauritius to work on an exciting project to establish an eco friendly recording studio and arts academy on Mont Brisee.

The Creative Knowledge & Skills Cultural Exchange with Pentakruz Entertainment Association was supported by The British Council and photographed by Sara Shamsavari.

In May 2004 we selected an MMC student to take part in an exchange with Stax Music Academy (USA). Louis went to Memphis, Tennessee and Tiffany came to London. They wrote about their experiences of the life, culture, music and food of their host country and made a track together.

The Midi Music Company was asked by Lewisham Council to represent the Borough in Berlin, to celebrate of 35 years of town twinning with Charlottenburg and Lewisham. Tutors and students of MMC formed a band to perform in Germany with some good old 60's-70 music. Needless to say we rose to the challenge and delivered some great renditions of Waterloo Sunset, Down town, Brown Sugar and Son of A Preacher.

The 2000 exchange started with a group of English students going to a town in Southern Italy called Nardo for the Festival Dei Popoli. The second part of the exchange saw a group of 10 Italian students come to London to exchange their views on life now and in the future. The exchange was called Through The Eyes Of The Future and involved both English and Italian students taking Photographs, writing lyrics and making music together which finished in the creation of a webpage.

Lo scambio 2000 e' iniziato con un gruppo di studenti inglesi che hanno visitato una citta' di Italia, Nardo' , nel salento, in occasione del Festival dei Popoli.Lo scambio e' continuato a Londra con la visita di 10 studenti italiani, della citta' di Nardo;con lo scopo di confrontare le loro idee sul presente e sul futuro.Lo scambio chiamato:"Attraverso gli occhi del futuro" ha coinvolto gli studenti in laboratori di scrittura musicale di fotografia con il fine di creare questa pagina web.
