A space for all children and young people to be inspired and get into music and the creative industries
For all you young writers out there, get your work seen!
The Albany Theatre is allowing a call out for young people with bright, new ideas and a desire to write for theatre and performance poetry. We are looking for scripts based on young people’s experiences of living in London, a fiercely debated topic in the media as of today.
The person chosen, will be developed into an illustrious writer by professional actors and director and the piece will then be performed as a rehearsed reading at new writing night, Freshly Squeezed, in the Albany studio on 8th April 2010.
AND THERE’S MORE…
On the night one writer will be chosen by the audience and our judges panel - featuring award winning scriptwriter Che Walker, esteemed director Stef O’Driscol and writer and performer Zena Edwards, for a free one to one session with an established playwright.
What you need to do to take part…
Submit a preliminary ten pages of your writing by Monday 8th March, this can be a short piece or an extract. Each piece submitted will be read carefully and considered. We promise to get back to you… so get writing!
