Grit story - still risin' from the dust

An innovative new project tracing the roots of British Grime music. Working in partnership with us, The Albany theatre and Goldsmiths, Univeristy of London, young people are doing the research through the archives at Goldsmiths, the music industry and their own communities. In April 2009 there was a week of workshops and the UK's first Grime Symposium hosted by Logan Sama, Kiss FM. See photos in the music room

Throughout this a provocative film documentary is being made. This will be shown, alongside original work created during the project, for Black History Month at an event at The Albany in collaboration with Apples & Snakes.
RISIN' from the DUST, 7.30pm, Friday 16th October, RISIN' from the DUST>
The project has been made possible by a generous £25,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
