A space for all children and young people to be inspired and get into music and the creative industries

Delivered in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS trust, this highly successful project provided mental health patients with the opportunity to explore music production.
Everyone involved with the project has been excited by the high standard of work produced and the sometimes huge increases in well being.
An innovative new project tracing the roots of British Grime music. A partnership production by The Midi Music Company, The Albany theatre and Goldsmiths: Univeristy of London. Young MCs, poets and producers researched the history of Grime through the archives at Goldsmiths, the music industry and their own communities. We held a week of workshops followed by the UK's first Grime Symposium hosted by Logan Sama, Kiss FM. Then came more research and interviews with some incredible music pioneers including Benjamin Zephaniah, Joy Mack and Cleveland Watkiss and 'Risin' From the Dust' an exhilarating night of grime, spoken word, music & film presented in partnership with Apples and Snakes where we launched the film, then there was the schools tour...
The project has been made possible by a generous £25,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Come and watch, listen and learn about Grime - the sound of London's streets today, an amazing project, and some very inspirational people and sounds...
