Jazzie B OBE

Jazzie B, British DJ, producer, entrepreneur and founding member of the classic dance pop group Soul II Soul, grew up around 60s and 70s sound system culture and  served his musical apprenticeship on the London circuit. His first gig in 1977 with a friend, Jah Rico, marked the beginning of five times Brit-nominated Soul II Soul, whose hits such as Back to Life and Keep On Movin' and albums such as Club Classics remain seminal to this day.

Chaka Khan

Shovell

This prolific percussionist and drummer has played with prestigious names such as M People, Soul II Soul, Nightmares On Wax, Primal Scream, Jamiroquai, Sting, Roots Manuva, Boy George, Jocelyn Brown, Chemical Brothers, Manic Street Preachers, Natural Life, N.O.W., The Beloved, Chicane, Atomic Kitten, Hear'Say, Death In Vegas, Kenny Thomas, Wolfgang Haffner, The Sandals, Bud Nubac, Defected Records, Pacha Ibiza. Shovell travels the planet in the name of the good groove.

Shingai Shoniwa

One half of indie rock duo The Noisettes, Shingai was once a CICAS¬Æ member here at The Midi Music Company.  Over seven incredible years, Shingai and Dan have delivered genre-bending pop with an exotic twist. The band first achieved commercial success and nationwide recognition with the second single off their second album, Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go) which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in Spring 2009. The Noisettes have toured Europe and the U.S.A. extensively, with artists such as TV on the Radio, Tom Vek, Babyshambles, Bloc Party, Mystery Jets, Muse, and Lady Gaga.

essman, known also for his work as a BBC television presenter. He is a leading authority on urban and contemporary culture with a prolific career in music, television, photography, fashion and journalism.
