our youth steering committee

The Midi Music Company Youth Steering Committee is a group of young artists who volunteer at MMC. We work together by giving young people and artists between the ages of 16 – 30 the opportunity to get involved with music projects and projects within the community.

The body of people that meet in the YSC come from different backgrounds and are young artists themselves, be it designers, singers, producers or performers. The YSC is a supportive group and we encourage each other and members of the community to achieve goals.

Within the past year the YSC has achieved a lot collectively and created opportunities for its member’s. We work under a policy of ‘As much as you put in you can get that back’ there various things to gain from Volunteering and the process of volunteer could help anyone find out what it is really want to do within their area of interest.

Being apart of the YSC does mean communicating at all times, communicating and being unafraid to better your own understanding of certain things. Most members enter the YSC not having any experience of the way the committee works. We have to attend quarterly meetings and the MMC Conference to review our activities as the YSC. The experience of these activities can be good practice and opportunities within themselves.

As YSC member all we ask is that you communicate, show an open interest to learning and better your own understanding. Get involved and you can even create your own opportunities with the skills you pick up.
